Publication Date
Winter 2007
Abstract
The primary purpose of STS 110 is to develop the student's sensitivity to and capacity for the rigorous critical analysis of philosophical, ethical and human values issues in contemporary public policy. In this regard, special attention will be paid to policies elicited by developments in contemporary American science and technology. The ethical and critical-analytical skills acquired and honed in the course are empowering and will prove extremely valuable to individuals in many professional fields, as well as to citizens in everyday non-professional life.
